Fully restored legendary speakers! From my private speaker collection, I am selling these legendary speakers. The AR-3a are highly sought after speakers, comparable to say the JBL L100 or some of the Klipsch horn speakers. This particular set of speakers was completely restored: new speaker surrounds for the bass speakers, new capacitors at the crossovers, L-pads cleaned with deoxIT, new modern speaker terminals (allowing the use of banana plugs), one of the unnecessary and confusing speaker terminals was removed, new bolts and impact nuts, putty on tweeters, mids and bass speakers to keep the sealing of the boxes, veneer sanded and then treated with Restor-a-finish and Feed-and-wax, fronts repainted, new cloth (18-count 100% linen), speaker grills refurbished and repainted. Nothing in these speakers was left unaddressed, so today they are better compared to when they were new. As a result the AR-3a speakers sound A-May-Zing! When brought back to their former glory, I understood why they were so highly regarded by hi-fi enthusiasts around the world. Collection is preferred as they are very heavy.
